This stamp came from my experience with teaching first-graders. I’d never cared for children before then; I only took a job as a teacher’s assistant because I needed community service hours and the elementary school was within walking distance. I’d never had siblings or younger cousins or any family besides my parents, so I didn't expect to form such a loving, protective bond with my kids.

To get to the point, what the fuck is up with this pedo/zoophile/whatever pride? To clarify, I’m not targeting only pedophiles, this stamp simply started with pedophilia. Nor do I claim to hate those with abnormal sexual patterns—on the contrary, I think I’m one of the few people able to see past the unusual and pity the inner man or woman scorned by society’s rejection of the strange. It is support of the disease, in this case pedophilia, and not the person that I'm denouncing.

Pedophilia is truly the most disgusting thing in the world to me. Before my experience with children and now, I’d have nightmares about it. I attribute this to the internet.
However, I understand that not all pedophiles are rapists or child molesters; my point is that pedophilia, zoophilia or whatever philia that involves the harming of real-life partners (note "harming"; philias like teratophilia are not included) should not be condoned. People like this don’t need someone to support their sexual attraction; they need someone to support their mental health. Psychiatry may never cure you, but it will provide you with the outlet you need. The internet will only support this sick behavior and might actually make it worse (what with people claiming that ‘it’s alright’—it’s not fucking alright).

I agree. Personally, I don't think it's my place to tell people what to think, racists, sociopaths, pedophiles, I don't care what goes on in their heads, but I don't think it's something to be proud of. Sure, don't be ashamed to admit you have a problem you need help with. Don't be ashamed if you haven't hurt a child and you're sick and you want help. I don't think they should be shamed for seeking help, but they shouldn't be proud of their illness. That's like hearing someone say "Proud sociopath!"
